By: Lisa S. Icenogle

The Casper College Band will celebrate the music of composer Aaron Copland at “A Copland Celebration” on Friday, March 22, at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall.

Under the direction of Joshua R. Mietz, DMA, the concert will feature tunes from Copland and others. He also received four Academy Award nominations for best score winning for 1949’s “The Heiress.”

The Casper College Band is comprised of Jenna Farley, Ashley Terry, Delores Thornton, and Brylee Glaser on flute; Isaac Miller on oboe; Alexandra Vincent, Samantha Boutte, Dan Spangler, Tre Weant, and Hannah Kerkes on clarinet; Giselle Moreno on bass clarinet; Richard Turner on bassoon; BreNae Candelaria, Diego Cuevas, Makayla Schroeder, and Jacob Finnegan on alto saxophone; Aidan Murphy on soprano and tenor saxophone; Dylan Mazzanti on tenor saxophone; Mike Pryczynski, Virginia Hazen, and Sabrina Hamner on horn; Ozzy Ness, Marc Heward, Eternity Thunder-Tophia, and Steve Johnston on trumpet; Zachary Vreeman on trombone; Titus Vreeman on euphonium; Ethan Green on tuba; Walker Wyckoff and Kelly Vandamme on bass; Joshua Knutson on percussion; and Travian Lyman on piano.
