T-Bird Men begin 2024 tournament action at home

By: Lisa S. Icenogle

The Casper College Men’s Basketball team will play a Region IX North Sub-Region play-in game at home this Saturday, March 9, at 4 p.m. against the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers.

Under Head Coach Tom Parks, the men have been on a winning streak, having won their last nine games. The T-Birds stand at 22-8 overall and 10-2 in conference play in Parks’ and Assistant Coach Deion Anderson’s first year at Casper College.

The Lancers, under Head Coach Tom Andersen, are 4-24 overall and 1-11 in conference play.

The winner of Saturday’s game will then move on to the 2024 NJCAA Region IX Men’s Basketball Tournament at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where they will play against the winner of the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen and McCook Community College Indians matchup. That winners’ game will occur at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, in Cougar Palace. The entire tournament will take place March 14-16.

Tickets for Saturday’s play-in game are $8 for adults 18 and over, $5 for seniors 60 and over, $5 for students 7-17 with their current student ID, and free for those 6 and under.

Tickets will be available at the door of the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gymnasium on the Casper College campus. Fans can download the tournament bracket here and livestream the game.
